Probably the most important thing to mention is how quickly your body has access to the nutrients you take in when you juice. Vegetables and fruits are the main source of many of the vitamins and minerals that our bodies need to survive. The only problem is in today's fast paced world with a fast food chain on every corner, most people don't take in even half of the amount of fresh produce that they should. Juicing can change that. You may not be able to eat two apples, five large carrots and several stalks of celery, but guess what? Throw those into a juicer or blender and bam, you've got one, easy, delicious glass of complete nutrition that anyone could handle! And the best part is, your body doesn't have to do hardly anything to get those nutrient.

When you eat a piece of fruit or some veggies your body must first digest the food in order to access the nutrients inside. When you drink those same fruits and veggies, the nutrients are absorbed through the intestinal walls and directly into the bloodstream. Your body doesn't have to digest anything. This is why, people who have diseases or illnesses that effect their digestion should definitely be juicing regularly. Patients diagnosed with colon cancer should be drinking up to 40 ounces of fresh veggie juice everyday.

Why should you care about phytochemicals? This little guys are the best disease-fighting substances you can get! And you won't get them from a Big Mac or a Whopper. Many people go on 10 day juicing fasts where they eat nothing but fresh vegetable and fruit juices. This cleanses your system of all the toxins from preservatives and oils and reboots your body giving you more energy. It can also help train your taste buds and make you think about foods differently. Suddenly processed food won't seem as tasty and you will find yourself craving fresh produce. As long as your physician gives you the green light, I would highly recommend almost anyone go on a 10 day juice fast at least once a year.
