Omega J8004 Commercial Juicer Review

I've really been on a health food kick lately, and one of the things that I have loved the best is making my own juices. Who doesn't love a refreshing cold glass of juice, especially when it's made from your home grown fruit or vegetables?

I have a small juicer, and I think it is just fine; that is until I was asked to try the Omega J8004 Nutrition Center Commercial Juicer. My first thought when I got it out of the box was, "This looks fantastic - so state-of-the-art!". The white finish gleamed in my pale gray and granite kitchen - it also comes in black or chrome for a small extra charge if that goes better along with your décor.

I took a good look at the build of the machine, and discovered it is definitely solid and sturdy, living up to it's description as being "commercial" There is a giant feeding chute, so no more cutting food into tiny pieces before you put it into the machine, a real plus in my book!

I chose to try an exotic cocktail when I first set it up, and so I threw some orange, pineapple, a fairly over-ripe passionfruit and a lime into the machine, with just a little coconut, and watched as the auger, juicing cone and drum went to work to extract every last little bit of goodness out of my fruit. I poured it out and drank it - delicious! And with the manufacturer's assurance that this J8004 extracts 20% more juice and 60% more nutrients than other similar juicers, I also felt both virtuously economical and extra healthy as I enjoyed the taste of the exotic fruit blend.

Something I noticed right away was that the juice didn't seem to foam the way the stuff I made in my old juicer did (by this time, the J8004 had become my new juicer in my mind!). I later discovered that this meant that juice would not oxidize, and start to go brown, but would stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to two days. omega juicer reviews  That's a real boon for entertaining or for other times when you want to prepare in advance, like for an early breakfast. Additionally, it saves waste, as if you've made a little too much juice to drink in one go, it will still be nice and fresh up to 48 hours later - no need to dump it after just a couple of hours.

The Omega J8004 features a impressive 15 year warranty to protect all parts, and that really provides me with confidence. The J8004 is a bit on the large size, at 14 ½ by 6 ½ by 15 1/2" and it weighs 19lb, but once it was in a good spot on my work surface it fitted in perfectly, and I was happy that the weight meant it didn't skitter around as I used it.
